.Since one major punishment of prison is the lost of heterosexual companionship, wouldn't homosexuality/lesbianism remove that deterrent to committing crimes? Many prison inmates choose homosexuality/lesbianism relationship with in prison as an alternative life style when considering to commit crimes. Therefore, it would be in the public interest
