I have been primarily using online job engines to apply and I have noticed that many companies discourage mail or phone calls in relation to job openings. I have references, cover letters, the whole shebang.. My preference bar is not set very high, I have been applying to part time work now. I have been job hunting for a couple months now and it has been depressingly ineffective.. I have a college degree, I was a double major and minored in a foreign language, I have work experience, although in an unrelated field as to what I am striving for.
